Heaters — questions buyers ask
How do I size an immersion heater?
Calculate the kW from the fluid volume, the temperature rise, and the time to reach setpoint, then check the watt density against the medium so the sheath stays below the fluid's scorch point. Use our heater sizing tool or send your tank details to an application engineer.
What sheath material should I use?
Use Incoloy/INCOLOY-800 for most water and process fluids and high temperatures, copper for clean water at lower temperatures, and 316 stainless for mildly corrosive solutions. Match the sheath to the medium to avoid premature failure.
Can you supply a custom or flanged immersion heater?
Yes. Flanged and circulation heaters are typically configured to the application (kW, voltage, flange size, thermowell, control). Add the item to an RFQ and our reps will spec and quote it.
